How NameTales works.

NameTales turns the letters of a first name into a fictional adventure for you to read together.

How a story is made.

Enter a first name and we’ll look for its story. If one is already saved, that’s the story you’ll read. If not, AI creates one and saves it for future readers. Stories for the same name are shared, not unique to each family.

The letters guide the adventure through imagined places and characters. Their fictional meanings are not etymology, personality analysis, or a claim about your child.

Made for reading together.

NameTales aims for gentle stories to share with young children, roughly ages 2–8. Children and families vary. Read ahead, choose what feels right, and skip or adapt anything you don’t like.

The stories and the moonlit artwork are AI-created. We don’t claim that every story has been reviewed by a child-development specialist, or that reading it will improve sleep or deliver a developmental outcome.

Two different ways to hear from us.

The early-access list is for updates about longer story adventures. Joining it does not subscribe you to a particular child’s series or guarantee an immediate chapter.

A story-series subscription starts on a name’s series page. It uses an email verification link and a weekly chapter schedule, up to 50 chapters. Availability depends on successful generation and delivery. Both kinds of email include an unsubscribe path.

Names, stories, and privacy.

  • Stories are public. Name pages can be shared and appear in search engines. Please enter only a first name, never a full name or identifying family details.
  • Names go to services that help make the story. Our name checker uses Nationalize, and our AI provider processes the name and story instructions. The current service accepts English letters, hyphens and apostrophes; it can reject valid names.
  • We save stories and service records. Reading and rating records may include an IP address and browser identifier. We also collect usage events and referral/campaign information to understand how the service is used.
  • Your browser remembers some settings. Reading size and lighting, a pending story name, and anonymous/referral identifiers may be stored locally. Clearing site data removes those browser records, not saved public stories.
  • Email is optional. If you join a list or subscribe, we store your email, any optional names you supply, and subscription/delivery information. Our email service processes these to send the requested messages.

For privacy questions or a removal request, contact hello@nametales.com. Please don’t put private information in a public story name.
